About

Our project:

Objectives:

  • To collect, organize and promote Chilean recorder music, facilitating its access.
  • To disseminate the cultural heritage generated by composers and performers of recent Chilean music around the recorder.
  • To testify the instrument’s presence in Chilean music’s scene.
  • The research project that gives rise to this website begins in 2003, through my work as a performer in learning, performing, collecting, commissioning and promoting new works for recorder in diverse instrumental forces. In 2012, the collection of music from the 20th and 21st centuries composed by Chilean composers both in Chile and abroad is systematized as part of my MA thesis, guided by the Chilean musicologist Alejandro Vera. After this project, it seems necessary to share the 130 works I found through my research and in 2015 this website is materialized.

This project was funded by Fondo de la Música from Chilean Government. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the individuals and institutions involved in this project.
